A new endeavor

I have enjoyed several books that have followed a team through the course of a season and have always wanted to attempt to write one. Not likely with the amount of workload here at the GT.

While I know its not the same, I am planning on doing something similar here on the blog. I plan to follow the Corvallis High girls basketball team this season and I’m not quite sure how it will all turn out.

I have followed a number of the girls for several years now and think it could be fun. I’m sure it will be challenging to try to post every night or every other night so anyone interested can stay on top of what is happening.

I know I will have one faithful reader as junior point guard Gabe Johnson said she will read all the time if I go through with this.

However, I’m already off to a poor start. Practice is going on as I type this while I am stuck at the office without the services of a vehichle. Mine is in the shop and I am still waiting to hear what is wrong with it.

I wanted to be there for the first day under new coach Joe Williamson, who is taking over for Scott Lasswell. The girls enjoyed their summer experience with Joe and they were pretty excited about today. In order to make this work the way I want, I need to make sure Joe is on board so keep your fingers crossed.

Anyway, just a brief introduction to what I hope is a season-long journey that we can all enjoy. Feel free to leave comments and thoughts as we move on.
